From the liner notes by Markus Heitz (author of "The Dark Lands"):

"CONQUEST IS OVER" While he roams the tower of the Red Dwarf looking for his friends, he unexpectedly finds Magdalena -- and she is sleeping! Her death was only a delusion by the dwarf. But right next to her the Golden King stands. The masks come off.
