From the liner notes by Markus Heitz (author of "The Dark Lands"):

"THE RITUAL" But his past catches up to him. Joß the crimper, the man who once recruited him, waits for Nicolas on his journey. While his demonic henchmen abduct Magdalena as leverage, Joß demands Nicolas and Eve to travel into hell to get him the Sacred Heart - an artefact of inconceivable power. Joß has joined the Secret Eye, a society seeking after this heart. Who wouId be better suited than an immortal mercenary? A ritual on Blocksberg takes Nicolas and Eve to hell.

(Note: For some reason Joß von Cramm is referred to as "Joost" in the actual lyrics.)
