We’ll, I have no idea what the writer intended, but as a 56 year old widowed by wife’s cancer, after a near perfect 33 years, it fits me perfectly. Having to reinvent your life and who you are in the world and enduring hit or miss relationships and finding your place when everything seems artificial and sometimes it feels like you’re going through the motions of breathing and eating can be very trying.
