The Russians Are Coming Lyrics

Wait for murder say it's all you can do
All we want is to be with you
All we want is a radical view of rock 'n' roll
Play the game if you take your time
You don't act you're a friend of mine
We've been ready since nineteen sixty nine
Won't you please sympathise with our views
All we say it's too bad to refuse
We'll destroy you with amateur blues and rock 'n' roll

We really wanna see you
We really wanna be with you
Wanna see you for another year

All aboard the midnight train
Around the world and back again
The Russians are Coming!
The Russians are Coming!

Do you think that you are bored
With all the things you can afford
The Russians are Coming!
The Russians are Coming!

Did you think just for a minute
That there might be something in it
That even Uncle Jimmy said
He thought that he could swing it
That all the people seem to think
That they can put us under
It seems to me that father says
We ain’t getting any younger

Wait for murder say it's all you can do
All we want is to be with you
All we want is a radical view of rock 'n' roll
Play the game if you take your time
You don't act you're a friend of mine
We've been ready since nineteen sixty nine

All aboard the midnight bus
There’s lots of room for all of us
The Russians are Coming!
The Russians are Coming!

On the road to rock ’n’ ruin
Even though there’s nothin’ doin’
The Russians are Coming!
The Russians are Coming!

Cover art for The Russians Are Coming lyrics by Bram Tchaikovsky

Recorded in 1980, title track of the album, it is obviously about "detente" started by Nixon & Kissinger to have better relations with the USSR, Detente was ended in December 1979 by Jimmy Carter when the Soviet Union went into Afghanistan. President carter is referenced as "Uncle Jimmy". The song has all the underlying tensions between the USA & Soviet Union referenced metaphorically throughout juxtaposed with wanting to be friends - the detente. As with Mister President (another cold war track) this is most likely the only transcription of this track on the internet and I am glad to provide this and more in the future when I get time! >:)
