Mexico Lyrics

I met this girl at a wedding down in Mexico
Her long black curls, they would follow her wherever she’d go
Oh I taught her how to samba I only wish I would have thought of
That when you’re dancing by the ocean you can fabricate emotion
And it’s hard to differentiate

Is it the rhythm or the sand?
Senorita understand,
They’ll take hold of you, they’ll take hold of you.
The evening sea will pull you in,
Hypnotize and leave you when,
You go home again, you go home again.

The letters fly and I feel bad for how long I have delayed
But I just can’t reply cause I’d be typing till the month of May
It’s like a scratch on a cd that keeps repeating and now the song is losing meaning
So if you want to find the one for you go on and skip a track or two
And cast aside this old debate

Is it the rhythm or the sand?
Senorita understand,
They’ll take hold of you, they’ll take hold of you.
The evening sea will pull you in,
Hypnotize and leave you when,
You go home again, you go home again.

I met this girl and now it seems it was forever ago
We found ourselves in a dream but we left it down in Mexico.

Is it the rhythm or the sand?
Senorita understand,
They’ll take hold of you, they’ll take hold of you.
The evening sea will pull you in,
Hypnotize and leave you when,
You go home again, you go home again.

I met a girl in Mexico. (it was a visit as he is not there and he says a country instead of place in that country). She had a long black curls. He was teaching and dancing samba with her by the ocean. While teaching her samba, he was starting to fall for her and his emotions of teaching vs falling for her started to entangle.

Chorus:: Is it the rhythm or the sand? Senorita understand, They’ll take hold of you, they’ll take hold of you. The evening sea will pull you in, Hypnotize and leave you when, You go home again, you go home again.

Its the rythm of the music, dancing, the place or time of the year, but its captivating and its getting hold of our emotions. The view of the evening sunset, will pull you deep with feelings but will eventually leave you when you go home.

The letters fly and I feel bad for how long I have delayed But I just can’t reply cause I’d be typing till the month of May It’s like a scratch on a cd that keeps repeating and now the song is losing meaning So if you want to find the one for you go on and skip a track or two And cast aside this old debate

Its a message (email or text) i am trying to write but the right ones are not there and its been a long time i have been overthinking about it and havent settled down on what to write. Its like a scratch that if i think about you its pleasant but the uneasy feeling is also there that i havent messaged you. Now if i do it will be awkward but i will have to overcome that then i will have to just get through that awkward phase and just do it.

Chorus: Again

I met this girl and now it seems it was forever ago We found ourselves in a dream but we left it down in Mexico.

So i met this girl which was a long time ago. It was perfect but it never happened so we left it where it was, in Mexico.

Chorus: Again

Additional notes: Reminds me of similar tone to 'you're beautiful'- james blunt.
