I think this song is about how the world is terrible and corrupt but as long as were livng life with the right people we'll be fine. The part that goes:
"I'll lose my mind at least another thousand times Hold my hand tight, we'll make it another night I still get a little scared of something new But I feel a little safer when I'm with you"
Might mean that everyone has their ups and downs, hence the first phrase, but as with the right lovers and friends to help you through life when it gets hard can make it easier to go on living.
