Mansions in the Sky

friends my dear friends why do we toil in despair
seeking fame and fortune will we ever really get there
how much is enough and how high must we climb
up the ladder of success through the years of time
for while we're here on earth we're building a home
to live beside Jesus beside his heavenly throne
and as we walk in love from the bible we are told
we're building a mansion that never grows old
there'll be mansions mansions in the sky
where we can rest our weary souls one day when we die
there'll be peace and rest way up in the by and by
way up in our mansions
there'll be mansions in the sky
so think not that our actions on earth are never seen
the Lord above is waiting he's gonna wash our spirits clean
when we enter through that glorious heavenly gate
the angels are awaiting as we live here by faith
there'll be mansions mansions in the sky
