This song is exactly what I’m going through right now.

For me, it is about knowing that you need to move on and leave someone alone but you just can’t. You can’t get them out of your head, you can’t stop reaching out.

“I call you up but I can’t get through It’s a pill that won’t go down.”

The other person is trying to move on with their life so he ignores the narrator because it is for the better. The narrator should stop calling because she knows that she won’t get through. The fact that they are over is too hard of a pill for her to swallow, so she keeps reaching out hoping something will be different.

She knows that he is struggling too, but her struggle seems deeper.
