Zombie (The Cranberries cover) Lyrics

Another head hangs lowly
Child is slowly taken
And the violence causes silence
Who are we mistaken?
But you see, it's not me
It's not my family
In your head, in your head, they are fighting
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their bombs, and their drones
In your head, in your head, they are crying
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
Another mother's breakin'
Heart is takin' over
When the violence causes silence
We must be mistaken
It's the same old theme
In two thousand eighteen
In your head, in your head, they're still fightin'
With their tanks, and their bombs
And their guns, and their drones
In your head, in your head, they are dyin'
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie, oh
It's the same old theme
In two thousand eight-teen
In your head, in your head, they're dyin'
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie
What's in your head, in your head?
Zombie, zombie, zombie-ie-ie,
Oh oh oh oh
Ie-ie, oh

Probably one of the most badass songs I've ever heard. What's in my head? Ask the government. They seem to know everything about my head, your head, their head, giving head, headfirst, headeast and everything in between. HIS thoughts are not our thoughts. Nor are HIS ways our ways. All I know is there's power in numbers. Common ground is everywhere.

Like the original was about the IRA and the wars that were tied to it, something often viewed as rooted in British Imperialism/Colonialism and the casualties to the innocent that always comes from war, this can also be viewed similarly, though instead of British Imperialism/Colonialism it\'s the American Corporate War Machine. Both often view the casualties of innocent civilians just a cost of war and disregard it because of profits to be had.
