Three Days Straight Lyrics
I'm going down to the police station
just gonna turn myself in
for all the bad things I've been doing
then maybe I won't do them again
seven old dogs in the backyard
six catgut strings on an old guitar
three days straight I've been putting
everything I own in a mason jar
I went down the Mobile depot
wanted to see Mr. Garfield's train
all I saw was people crying
creosote smoke and falling rain
seven last words to the faithful
six shades of gray on a piece of wood
three days straight I've been sinking
I ain't been doing what I should
I went down to see the fortune teller
wanted to get my future read
she looked at my hand, she said, "It's bad"
she crossed her eyes and fell back dead
seven miles as the crow flies
six black birds that fly somewhere
three days straight I've been thirsty
it's getting to where I don't care
so I've been standing in muddy water
waiting for the sun to shine
I ain't been doing what I ought to
crystal ball don't sympathize
seven times seven is forty nine
six times nine is fifty four
three days straight I've been thinking
well I ain't gonna do that no more
just gonna turn myself in
for all the bad things I've been doing
then maybe I won't do them again
six catgut strings on an old guitar
three days straight I've been putting
everything I own in a mason jar
wanted to see Mr. Garfield's train
all I saw was people crying
creosote smoke and falling rain
six shades of gray on a piece of wood
three days straight I've been sinking
I ain't been doing what I should
wanted to get my future read
she looked at my hand, she said, "It's bad"
she crossed her eyes and fell back dead
six black birds that fly somewhere
three days straight I've been thirsty
it's getting to where I don't care
waiting for the sun to shine
I ain't been doing what I ought to
crystal ball don't sympathize
six times nine is fifty four
three days straight I've been thinking
well I ain't gonna do that no more

Song fact! "Three More Days" as written by Raycharles Lamontagne is not the same song as "Three Days Straight" as written by Ray Wylie Hubbard. In fact, they're entirely different songs! And when I submitted the lyrics to "Three Days Straight" by Ray Wylie Hubbard, I was kinda hoping they wouldn't be replaced with the lyrics to "Three More Days" by Raycharles Lamontagne. And when I tried correcting that mistake (easy to make, I suppose?), seems to have been corrected right back. I suppose BMG Rights Management has their reasons for putting the lyrics of "Three More Days" by Raycharles Lamontagne under the title of "Three Days Straight" by Ray Wylie Hubbard, but I'm a bit concerned that this will create some confusion for anyone who clicks on the link for "Three Days Straight" by Ray Wylie Hubbard, only to be directed to the particularly insipid lyrics of"Three More Days" by Raycharles Lamontagne. I'm almost certainly shouting into a void here, but if anyone has the power to fix this, I think the internet will appreciate it! Thank you!
