Please Rain Fall Lyrics
Please rain fall,
within the space big and wide [that] I call my mind.
Fill it deep,
and seep into where it is weak
against the crash of thoughts,
tire, like no wind across a sea,
but all things stirring underneath,
sending ripples right into my head and all around me.
Please rain fall and break the surface
up into movement like it's own life.
And that might save
from anymore attention to what could live down, down, down, woh.
Like no wind across some sea
yeah, but all things stirring deep down underneath,
sending ripples right into my head and all around me,
to my head and all around me.
within the space big and wide [that] I call my mind.
Fill it deep,
and seep into where it is weak
against the crash of thoughts,
tire, like no wind across a sea,
but all things stirring underneath,
sending ripples right into my head and all around me.
up into movement like it's own life.
And that might save
from anymore attention to what could live down, down, down, woh.
yeah, but all things stirring deep down underneath,
sending ripples right into my head and all around me,
to my head and all around me.

The song is about the singer's personal turmoil. He exhorts the rain to fill his mind, flood it and overwhelm the crashing thoughts of despair that he is experiencing. In the second verse he pleads with the rain to create patterns on the water's surface, show him there something outside his own experience and so take his mind off the own sorrow-filled emotions that exist deep down inside him. In verse 3, he sings that the deep, uncontrollable thoughts and emotions have welled up and overcome him. On line 2: 'Please rain fall, within the space big and wide [that] I call my mind' the square bracketed [that] helps make sense of the sentiment the singer is expressing.
