Destruction Lyrics

What do you get when your love is away?
What do you get when hate is all around you?
What do you get mixing pain and ecstasy?
What do you get ignoring life right before you?

I work for you now, you work for me now
Lets’ find the balance between servant and master
I get this culture, but you’re the vulture
Now take this merry-go-round
Disclaim what you are

Ring-a-ring o’ rosies, pocket full of posies
Ashes, ashes, ashes…

You’re facing the grave, you’ve made the mistake
And now it’s time for your destruction
You’ve lost and you gawk, yeah you and your flock
And now there’s no luck, it’s your destruction

You know it’s right yah! To take you over
Don’t let me make you look worse, just close the chapter
I get that culture, now let it rupture
Go take the merry-go-round
Disown what you are

Destruction is definitely a favorite of mine off of his second EP Face Your Fate. To me it is about the human condition. It's about conditions in our current society that strip to the core of every being. The song is about the give and take of how society operates to the point of feeling numb or apathetic. There is a line. "I work for you now, you work for me now. Lets’ find the balance between servant and master. It deals with societal structure of how many corporate businesses are set up or even regular jobs. it's about exploitation and abuse too in a sense. That's why the chorus sings "You’re facing the grave, you’ve made the mistake And now it’s time for your destruction." it's watching these societal structures crumble after long periods of human rights abuses/ exploitation of humans for work purposes.

from the way i see it, this song is about my ex...i thought about his addiction as well...it fit both situations. I see it as someone had the opportunity to have something really great had everything at their feet, and they chose instead to walk away. They chose to accept the plan of the devil (so to speak.)..they did it to themselves. From the addiction aspect - somewhat see it the same way, especially with these lyrics: I work for you now, you work for me now Lets’ find the balance between servant and master I get this culture, but you’re the vulture

All in all, it's a great song with so much meaning!
