Blue Water Lyrics
Blue water
Sit and I wait
For the morning to come
Blue water
And I wait for the sound of my gypsy
Blue water
I sit not in flight
Hidden, not in sight
Blue water
Blue water
And I stare at the sea
And the sea smiles for me
And the sea
Is as moving
As a lover
I can't give up the night
I'm in high tide
I'd like to sail the sea
I'd like to take you on a slow ride
Blue water
I sit and I wait for the morning to come
Blue water
And I wait for the sound of my gypsy
Blue water
I sit not in flight
Hidden, not in sight
Blue water
Blue water
And I smile at the sea
And then the sea smiles for me
And the sea is as moving
As a lover
I can't give up the night
I'm in hide tide
I'd like to sail the sea
I'd like to take you on a
Slow ride
I can't give up the night
I'm in high tides
I'd like to be your friend
I'd like to love you till the end
Blue water
Blue water
Well I sit and I wait
For the morning to come
Blue water
Then I wait for the sound of my gypsy
Blue water
Well I sit and I wait
For the morning to come
Sit and I wait
For the morning to come
Blue water
And I wait for the sound of my gypsy
Blue water
I sit not in flight
Hidden, not in sight
Blue water
Blue water
And I stare at the sea
And the sea smiles for me
And the sea
Is as moving
As a lover
I can't give up the night
I'm in high tide
I'd like to sail the sea
I'd like to take you on a slow ride
Blue water
I sit and I wait for the morning to come
Blue water
And I wait for the sound of my gypsy
Blue water
I sit not in flight
Hidden, not in sight
Blue water

And I smile at the sea

I have read in some magazine that this song is about "dealing with fame and love at the same time" that is of course difficult to do. But it also refers to her desire for leaving Fleetwood Mac and the urge for starting her solo career. That's what I have read. Well, I am not the kind of chick who thinks she knows everything better but personally when I read this lyrics I feel it's about something a little different. I think she sings about the freedom that music gives her: touring, recording, performing. "And I wait for the sound of my gypsy" - I think that "gypsy" is her another alter ego, her inner voice or just like Sara - "the poet in her heart" - it's her who gets ready for another music adventure. "I'd like to take you on a slow ride" - well ... I believe that this line refers to the fact that music business isn't only joy but also hard, difficult, crazy, toxic place; and she wants to slow down a little, she wants to take herself for a slow ride (about the same things she sings in "Bella Donna"). "I'm in high tides" - well, maybe here she sings about her big fame that is also intence and makes her feel exausted. "I'd like to be your friend/ I'd like to love you till the end" - well ... in spite of all those difficulties she wants to "stay friends" with music business because that's her life and she wants to do the singing as long as possible. That's what I think about this song but I am not sure if it's good interpretation :( But maybe I'll find on Internet what Stevie has said about it which would be very fine.
@Jekaterina Ok I have found the real meaning of this song so I am going to reply myslef XDDDDDD Stevie Nicks said that she wrote some saga once and it was a kind of cartoon for children and it was about a love affair of goldfish and a ladybug and "Blue Water" is a part of that saga. And in this song Ladybug sits at the sea shore and waits for her gypsy Goldfish. Gee, how fucking crazy but I think it's really cool and I'd like to get to know the whole saga.
