this verse means that he was with a girl that said she would always be their but it turns out she did not mean it

now this is where he basically says fine i don't you to love and im gonna carry my cross without you is a big part because in the bible it says " simon of Cyrene, who was recruited by the soldiers from the crowd to carry or help carry the cross. Modern scholars, following descriptions of criminals carrying crossbars by Plautus and Plutarch, often take the Gospel description as meaning Jesus, then Simon, carried only a heavy patibulum, the crossbar, to a pole, stipes, which was permanently driven into the ground at Golgotha.[2] However, in Christian imagery Jesus, and Simon, carry the complete cross—both patibulum and stipes." so basically he says i can do the hardest things without you.
