Sometimes We Die

Sometimes we fall
Only to rise again
Even though wounds remain open
Sometimes we crawl
And we cry for help, our backs to the wall
Sometimes we lie
To avoid those issues
A very inconvenient truth
Sometimes we die
Then a hushed silence becomes the best reply
Inside the peace is gone
Now our hearts go to war
Outside tears flow down
Like our blood on the floor
We will survive
Or maybe we'll die
Still all alone
With our failures set in stone
Sometimes we know
After all of these times
We're at the edge of our lives
Sometimes we blow
Something up to assert a personal cause
Sometimes we fly
Like dead leaves to the ground
And turn to dust without a sound
Sometimes we die
Suddenly in pain without saying goodbye
Inside the peace is gone
Now our hearts go to war
Outside tears flow down
Like our blood on the floor
We will survive
Or maybe we'll die

With our failures set in stone
Who's gonna try to make things better for a time ?
We have failed many times in this exercise
And who's gonna try to make things better in this life ?
With the way things are going now there will be strife
As long as it takes, someone will have strength to fight
Against the darkest part of us devoid of light
