It's about a person who parted from another (Good to be without you) so he's happy about it but quite unsure (she might look like the answer). This makes sense for Robin's girlfriend parted from him (or the other way round) some years ago.
But then he's longing to see her again (I need to see you) while he's urgent to pretend that he won't need her 'cause a reunion could cause some disappointment or pain. Deep in his heart he still loves her but he knows seeing her is 'forbidden'. Everyone of you who's partner parted from you while you were still loving that person know what's going on inside here.
