Here’s a personal memory of mine with this simple yet powerful song.

To pre-face, I’ve been a strfkr fan since my college days 2014-2018 and it practically all started with RGETS.

Anyway, this song hit deep during my 2020 breakup with my college girlfriend. It’s one of those songs that lets you mourn accordingly and feeds the flame of depression if you let it, which I did at that time. I never bothered looking up the lyrics because to me it was just a song to let out the tears and let outcries become commonplace.

Fast forward to late 2022, my ex-girlfriend and I took extensive amount of time apart and miraculously ran into each other in the streets of Boston, uncoordinated - like out of a movie. We rekindled and restarted in 2023, now stronger and more mature than ever.

Fast forward to 2024, her and I are doing one last roadtrip from Boston to Jacksonville with my Chevy Cruze of 8 years. This very song pops up. It still hits, but to my immediate surprise, I hear my girlfriend sing “I love you, I love you, All of you”. I’m absolutely shocked to know that that is what the song was saying all along. I would sing this song while in the pith of my sadness and never realized I was just singing “I love you” to my ex-girlfriend, and now I’m singing “I love you” to that very same woman… but in happiness.

I came full circle with this song at that point. I loved it then, and I love it now. I sing it still with teary eyes but for all the right reasons.
