Let Me Heal Lyrics

I’ll bid my time, I’ll come up empty
If I get in line, I’m on my knees
If you take what’s mine, I’ll still have plenty
So I guess I’m find with this disease

So please just let me heal
And please don’t let me complicate this all
I need to breathe
And need to help me face this on my own

In another life you could defend me
It’s a jagged line I walk with ease
And to my surprise you can’t offend me
In my demise I’ll get release

So please just let me heal
And please don’t let me complicate this all
I need to breathe
And need to help me face this on my own

So please just let me heal
And please don’t let me complicate this all
I need to breathe
And need to help me face this on my own

On my own
On my own
On my own
On my own

This song speaks to a familiar situation, even if it’s not exactly what the lyrics really mean. In my opinion, this song is about battling addiction but finding it hard to quit because he’s having to portray a certain appearance around others.

Sort of like he’s begging someone he loves to give him space/privacy while he goes through withdrawal and the healing process. He doesn’t want the other person or people seeing him like that.

I remember being hooked on various opiates. I would always taper down and get so close to quitting, but because I own a business and have a wife who loves to be socially active, I couldn’t fully let go due to the appearance I felt was needed around them.

With my business clients I found meetings a bit tough if I wasn’t somewhat high. At home, my wife knew about 50% of my situation but she didn’t fully know how bad I was struggling. She would always plan family outings, invite friends over, etc., and that made it harder for me to fully let go. Basically, I didn’t want her or others seeing me down, so my “high representative” was still the one I turned on when I needed to seem fun.

I finally came clean and told her I was struggling, I pretty much told her what the lyrics of this song are saying. She helped me through, but gave me the needed space, and also allowed me to heal without having to be around others; in the end it helped me get sober!

@Crippled Addiction is such a human response to life. We see it in drugs, and alcohol right? We talk about that a lot. And I applaud you for sharing your wisdom and voice. Addiction comes in so many outfits. Many of us are trying them on all the time, not even aware it’s addiction. Remember. Tread lightly on your soul. Awareness is key. Everything else is set into motion after that. As long as there is hope in heart all is Well.
