Let you down is about someone who lacks confidence and feels damaged. Verses are naming all the things he would do for the one he loves but still can't, cause he feels powerless. The chorus is the one he likes talking to him and saying "say something beautiful etc".. His response is "this anticipation... I will only let you down".
I wish I fully understood this song. I don’t think it’s necessary, I just wish I did.
Probably way off but to me it almost sounds like he’s speaking on behalf of a substance that isn’t actually alive. Like if alcohol, heroin, or any drug could actually speak to their user. It seems as if he and his drug of choice are having a conversation between one another.
Haha. I’m so dumb. I thought this song was sarcasm at first.
