There's A Person There

She walks around the block
With a silver-plated putter on her shoulder
To chase the wolves off when they come
She'd rather fight than run
So just be aware
Everybody thinks she's crazy
I think maybe she just needs a patient ear
To listen to her stories, let her know somebody cares
And there's a person there
I gave her a pair of shoes for Christmas
She looked up and smiled and said "somebody must've listened"
I got shoes, my feet are off the ground

The last one she told me, she was all down on her luck
When the landlord wanted her to kill her ex
For a little money and a truck
But I ain't scared
Layin' in my bed I hear the water run, the ceiling creek
I don't think she ever sleeps
But I love to hear those feet upstairs

Who knows, maybe I'm a little crazy too
But crazy people always seem to pull each other through
