Cold Cold Man Lyrics

Oh my love
I know I am a cold cold man
Quite slow to pay you compliments
Or public displayed affections
But baby don't you go overanalyze
No need to theorize
I can put your doubts to rest

You're the only one worth seeing
The only place worth being
The only bed worth sleepin's
The one right next to you

Oh my love
I know you're used to desperate men
Who say the words that others said
For too long and for too often
But baby you can lay off a little bit
No need to smother it
I can put your doubts to rest

You're the only one worth seeing
The only place worth being
The only bed worth sleepin's
The one right next to you

Cover art for Cold Cold Man lyrics by Saint Motel

Id say this song interprets a relationship where one of them is a “cold man”. They don’t show much affection or emotion in this relationship hence the beginning, “Oh my love, I know I am a cold cold man. Quite slow to pay you compliments. Or public displayed affections.” basically telling us that they seem “cold hearted” and like they don’t care about the other person in the relationship. The other person in this relationship is worried at the fact this person seems emotionless and cold (But baby don't you go over analyze, No need to theorize I can put your doubts to rest.” No need to theorize meaning no need to go on and think what if they don’t like me or what if they’re cheating on me. He then goes on to say “You're the only one worth seeing. The only place worth being. The only bed worth sleeping in Is the one right next to you” showing they do really like this person although they might not be able to or want to show it. They’re a cold cold man.
