Finery Lyrics

It’s what I know, you’re clothed in only
Sunlight and your flesh…
So I’ll bring the breeze and then you’ll need
To close up all the rest…
Shoulders showing, makeup thick
Until there’s nothing left

I still see you, I still see you

You’re gonna learn me,
You’re gonna learn me only hopefully
Don’t fold your hands and go to sleep
You’re going hungry, you never need be,
Only needing me…
You’re wearing empty dressed-up finery

Hush, you’re blushing
Cover up, there’s worry on your face
Culture’s kept and blessed men
Believe in awful things…

You dance until your feet both bleed
I want to hear your sing

I still see you, I still see you

You’re gonna learn me,
You’re gonna learn me only hopefully
Don’t fold your hands and go to sleep
You’re going hungry, you never need be,
Only needing me…
You’re wearing empty dressed-up finery

Wear the ring, the clothes,
They’re gifts for you to have, to hold,
To know… that even in the end you’re my own
Waste and want make all the bold
Become the ones that they don’t know
It’s cold…
You’re coming home

You’re gonna learn me,
You’re gonna learn me only hopefully
Don’t fold your hands and go to sleep
You’re going hungry, you never need be,
Only needing me…
You’re wearing empty dressed-up finery

Cover art for Finery lyrics by Penny and Sparrow

I went through a major shift in my beliefs. I couldn't help to feel like God was speaking to me in this song. Like a love song from a saviou, just my feeling. This song really spoke to me during a very dark time. Thank you Penny and Sparrow-however you meant it, it means alot to me!
