Dying of the light,
a million faces search the sky.
The universe was huge enough for us to hide.
Drifting with the tide,
a rite of passage to the stars.
I always knew the days were through for us to shine.
Live, love, fade out!
Days and nights seem never ending,
space and time bleed into one.
Hold on to the light,
to stay awake, to live and learn,
to keep your sanity.
Trace forgotten smiles,
to feel the rage and hear the tale,
of how the mission fell apart.
Stay here by the light,
to turn the page and feel the pain,
of being loved and left behind.
Sing the sun in flight,
to be afraid and live in vain.
Let the rest of us remain!
Live, love, shut down!
Days and nights seem never ending,
space and time bleed into one.
Dreams of our two worlds connecting,
fade as soon as they've begun
a million faces search the sky.
The universe was huge enough for us to hide.
a rite of passage to the stars.
I always knew the days were through for us to shine.
space and time bleed into one.
to stay awake, to live and learn,
to keep your sanity.
to feel the rage and hear the tale,
of how the mission fell apart.
to turn the page and feel the pain,
of being loved and left behind.
to be afraid and live in vain.
Let the rest of us remain!
space and time bleed into one.
Dreams of our two worlds connecting,
fade as soon as they've begun

In my vision:
Lapse is about being carried out in a relationship while fallen in love. "Days and nights" are never ending. "Space and time bleed into one".
Eventually, one day everything "fades out". "Dying of the light". "Seemed never ending". "The universe was huge enough for us to hide". "I always knew the days were through for us to shine".
As it so happens, when you are found (you find yourself - "a million faces search the sky") in the darkness and emptyness that is "being loved and left behind", one must resort to reason to bring itself back from emptyness.
"Hold on to the light To stay awake To live and learn To keep your sanity"
To find yourself is as painfull as getting lost, so you must keep making sense of things and "stay here by the light"/at the side of reason.
"Trace forgotten smiles To feel the rage and hear the tale Of how the mission fell apart Stay here by the light To turn the page and feel the pain Of being loved and left behind"
Finally, one should not be affraid of loving again, as it would be like living in vain.
"Sing the sun in flight To be afraid and live in vain Let the rest of us remain"
Love until you die. "Live, love, shut down"
When it comes to be a song from Haken (Affinity), however, it is probable that my interpretation is an overextension and it is all about a random Sci-Fi story (or not?).
