It’s a song about a man reflecting back on his darker days and moving on from them nowadays. He knows he no longer needs the things from his dark days and that brighter ones are ahead so because of that he needs to move forward this part of song is clearly indicating it: "Misfits, drunks and Philistines I've been all before But I know that I don't Need them anymore Hey… Dark days behind me Hope the good days don't blind me" and in this part of the song you can clearly understand he is talking about hope for the future and he's saying don't worry about the past: "Wipe the dust from my saddle Like an old familiar friend Life and time will pass you by Don't worry ‘bout the shit That you can't mend Wash the troubles from my mind I know they'll never end Futures looking brighter We can always ride again"
