I am new to Agnes. First heard her Netflix 'Dark' soundtrack. Love her! These and all her lyrics, very intelligent. I believe she is also crafting the sounds of the words to fit her amazing voice. As if the sound is primary, not the meaning--but cleverly esoteric. A certain intriguing opacity. You figure it out- tease. Thank you Ma'am, may I have another? Also her piano playing is so purposeful. A single note throughout begins to hypnotize! Mysterious. A rainy northern forest.
“I love that film and, yeah, definitely I love to unnerve,” she(Agnes) admits. “With Citizen of Glass, I wanted to be more open with how I experience things and I really needed to have this tension in there; the feeling of something just about to break apart.”

Agnes' lyrics are a bit enigmatic...mayhaps something is lost in translation from her native Danish. The melody, however, speaks to my soul, and I find myself listening to this song over and over again - a deep resonance that my subconscious is trying to interpret for me.
This secret love is a danger because it's between two lovers who shares the same spirit but live in the physical world. This love is invisible for the others but tangible only for them. It is difficult to live this love and actualise it in the physical : because each of the protagonists has their responsibilities in their own life and everything familiar is threatened by this love, this energy which takes on importance.
This was used as the theme song in Canadian crime series “Cardinal”. Also played once in German drama “Dark”. Enchanting melody and feeling, but to me, totally cold and meaningless art for art’s sake.
Is this wonderful song about a love that can't be shared to the others? Maybe a homosexual love?
