Conqueror

Aurora said this in an interview: "'Conqueror’ is about a world that is kind of falling apart around you, and you’re looking for a conqueror to save you. But you’re looking for the conqueror in someone else, which I think is something you should not do. You should find the conqueror in yourself first, and be your own hero. If you stand strong, then you will stand for a bit longer."

I think this song is all about finding someone who loves you. Also the mental struggles of wanting help but not finding it. How she's feeling destructive for not finding that love, or maybe that's the way she is and why she doesn't find it. We get a positive message that besides not finding love, she still feels alive. This was my first Aurora song and I think it should have been the opener to her debut album!

I feel like this song is about the girl whose life is completely falling apart. Even the term "open ground" refers to the entire world coming to an end. The girl is trying to look for a hero, a conqueror, but they "never seem to come my way." She's looking for the perfect someone to save the world, yet she realizes that everyone is broken. No one is perfect.

"Broken me and broken them and You are broken, too Open ears, their eyes are open Makes me call for you"

The hero she sought for, she finally found but they are broken too. She experiences a disillusionment, in the fact that none of the heroes she was looking for even exist, and they are all figments of fantasy.

She then becomes empowered. If she cannot find a hero, she will become a hero for herself. She realizes that anyone can be a hero, and that is when she finally comes alive.
