I'm 99% sure this song is referring to the biblical story of the people of Israel in the desert in Exodus. Not entirely sure what they mean by cloud cover - if it's referring to -symbolism of a bad omen or -how there's inherent darkness that's tied to us wherever we go or if -cloud cover is supposed to be a promise of a constant chance at forgiveness for whenever we decide to look up at the heavens

Nice song regardless. Really high quality stuff. These people got better with every album.
