A lot of people say the original acoustic version of this song captures the sadness of the song better than the remix does, but I completely disagree. The lyrics are all about how the celebrity/clubbing/partying lifestyle is just a hollow shell that people use to distract themselves from the things missing in their personal life. Adding an upbeat dance instrumental to contrast with those lyrics actually highlights the theme of the song even more.
