Emotionless Lyrics

With lips closed and eyes sealed
You're a sculpture with a pulse
I wanna capture your essence and keep it here forever, little one
And I feel good about you not telling anyone

You'll just lie motionless, emotionless, you're beautiful asleep
Motionless, emotionless, you're beautiful asleep

You'll feel nothing as I send your soul away
How long will it last and how long will you stay
As guilty as I feel, I'm making you beautiful forever
Until you rot away to nothing, we'll be perfect here together
I feel good about you not telling
I feel good about you...

You'll just lie motionless, emotionless, you're beautiful asleep
You'll just lie motionless, emotionless, you're beautiful asleep
Cause you're falling apart
Cause you're falling apart
At your seams

You're falling apart
You're falling apart

You'll just lie motionless, emotionless, you're beautiful asleep
You'll just lie motionless, emotionless, you're beautiful asleep
You'll just lie motionless, emotionless, you're beautiful asleep

You'll just lie motionless, emotionless, disgusting now I see
You're falling apart at your seams

What I saw in my minds eye when I read the lyrics, was a child, who was a thinker, hence emotionless, or without much action, like a sculpture with a pulse, and the mother saw perfection in this and wanted to protect the child and keep the child safe and perfect, as time whent on though, without truly living, the child grew and began to fall apart. I suppose this could also be seen as a lover that would lock their love away from the world, we all need to accomplish something and have a will of our own and when all our means are met from an outside source this eats away at the core of our being.

My Interpretation

I mean, I think we can be pretty literal with this one. He's talking about a woman he's enamoured with whom he has access to while they sleep... killing her (sending her soul away painlessly) which is why she's not telling anyone (cause she's dead). He can keep her young and beautiful forever (because she stops aging) and she'll always be motionless & emotionless because she's dead. However... dead things eventually rot. "Until you rot away to nothing We'll be perfect here together"... "'Cause you're falling apart At your seams"... "Disgusting now I see"

This is simply a song aboutkidnap, murder and very likely necrophilia. Which is whatever, still a good song.

@chloe10666 I always thought that there was something off (strange) about the song, I definitely think that you nailed it. I still enjoy listening to the song but it’s creepy to say the least.

I really feel like this song is about a mortician or someone at a funeral home who prepares bodies for embalming and display.

@neloangelo922 It's morbid but I agree with this you. I know you got downvoted for it but I feel that way too. It makes it a creepier song for sure, but it's what I envisioned too.

@neloangelo922 I thought the same except the line "sculpture with a pulse" makes me think this song is about date rape using Rohypnol or GHB.

According to the musicians, its about a dream that he had about a woman who was motionless, and emotionless and he was captivated by her presence. https://www.facebook.com/redsunrisingmusic/videos/10150512983619982/

I also wanted to add, that I do see how it could be a woman at a party, like a wallflower that didn't interact much, she would likely be the type of child I referenced, trying to break free, knowing something isn't right bbu also not knowing what to do.
