The increasing resistance
The open wounds
A paralyzed flock
Steadily drowns
The incline getting steeper
While legs turning numb
The quivering surface
The unavoidable descent
Off the edge
I have been thrown
Down
Vanished
All that I've known
Down
Reaching towards the unknown
Revelation yet to come
The self is growing stronger
The dusk
Remains longer
Like parasites, they devour
Violating the creation
The absence of the conscience
The shallow congregation
The open wounds
A paralyzed flock
Steadily drowns
While legs turning numb
The quivering surface
The unavoidable descent
I have been thrown
Down
All that I've known
Down
The self is growing stronger
The dusk
Remains longer
Violating the creation
The absence of the conscience
The shallow congregation

Could this possibly have something to do with being ostracised by the Church? There are a lot of religious words used, coincidence?
Open wounds (in reference to the crucifixion of Jesus), flock (a common terminology used in the Bible to describe followers), revelation, violating the creation (God created all), and lastly congregation (a group commonly used in regards to Church gatherings).
If we use the religious tract the songs seems to suggest for some reasons they've been cast out from their religious congregation (reason not given), and this describes their fight to find who they are now that they are not part of the flock. This freedom and individuality of thought has opened their eyes to a new world, new possibilities and new lines of thought ("vanished all I have known")
The last verse seems to suggest that they have also come to realise that their church was perhaps not as Holy as it claimed to be (in fact they view them as "parasites" and that they are actually "devouring" / destroying the lives of many that their Creator made).
