I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
the best song in 25, IMO. this song is about two lovers who are still in love but cannot be with each other anymore. most probably, they're secret lovers. the lyrics is about their last night together.

This is is so amazing!! It's so sad! Unfortunately I'm going through this myself.. I don't believe that they're secret lovers. I think that they've had many fights already! And the same thing keeps getting repeated! She can't tell anyone else about their problems (you're the only one that matters, who do I run to?) meaning' they are a couple and that's her best friend (partner in life) but if he's the problem. I went through this last year with an amazing guy. We both completed each other, he loved me, I loved him, his family had already accepted me, but my family wouldnt because we have different religion. So after pushing and pulling the relationship for a long time, we finally agreed that we better end it. He came to my house at midnight, I sneaked out and went into his car. When i saw him, his eyes were already swollen and so were mine. His lips tried to say something but he could not, and he looked completely lost. I hugged him right away, and he hugged me back so tight. We cried our heats out under the moonlight. No words were spoken but we both knew what was happening. We were done.

This is an ending story of ex lovers. They both know in reality that they can't fix what is already broken. If they tried to, it will hurt them more.The guy/lady asking for one more good memory as what they did, before they will go separate ways.
