Beauty in life
It takes years to come to light
Another year and it is lost and flung aside
Beauty in strife
Respiratory failures
And the medicines and studies
To keep you alive
Scared of dying young
And a fear of dying old and alone
But if you could choose the day
Don’t pretend to know
Because you’d just let it go
Beauty in crime
Wait ‘til somebody dies
So you can take their heart
Or liver to survive
Beauty in time
Waiting patiently your turn
And all of the people lying their way
To the front of the line
But if it’s out
And maybe you’re just late
And your cells are dying deaths
That cannot be replaced
Scared of dying young
And a fear of dying old and alone
But if you could choose the day
Don’t pretend to know
Because you’d just let it go
Ugliness tries to grab you by the neck
Intertwine itself with life
And tries to get ahead
And you can be sure that it will come to visit
It will try its best to send you running scared
But if you fight
You can finish what your parents started
Or fight because you’ve still got some fight left
Scared of dying free
And a fear of dying bound
Scared of being brave
And a fear of crying out
Scared but we all want you
To be happy
And prepared
Beauty in life
It takes years to come to light
The knowledge that whether
You’re wrong or your right
We all die
The difference is whether you give up
Or stand up tall and look it in the eye
