The Otherside Lyrics
I know I'm not as hot as the flame
That burned here before me
I've been flipping through all your moments
And tearing out memories
How long how, long can you carry this note?
How low, how low can we keep digging this hole?
Until we come out on the other side
Crawling through mud, what's the difference
When you come out on the other side?
Falling from grace, what's the difference
When you come out on the other side?
The other side
The other side
Where you come out alone
Trying to wash all of my sins clean
I've gotten too filthy
The drain is full but still circles beneath me
Like a fool to sanity
How long, how long can you carry this note?
How low, how low can we keep digging this hole?
Until we come out on the other side
Crawling through mud, what's the difference
When you come out on the other side?
Falling from grace, what's the difference
When you come out on the other side?
The other side
The other side
Where you come out alone
Will you come out alone?
Will you come out at all?
Will you come out alone?
Yeah, yeah, crawling through mud, what's the difference
When you come out on the other side?
Falling from grace, what's the difference
When you come out on the other side?
The other side
The other side
On the other side, the other side
Where you come out alone
That burned here before me
I've been flipping through all your moments
And tearing out memories
How low, how low can we keep digging this hole?
Until we come out on the other side
When you come out on the other side?
Falling from grace, what's the difference
When you come out on the other side?
The other side
The other side
Where you come out alone
I've gotten too filthy
The drain is full but still circles beneath me
Like a fool to sanity
How low, how low can we keep digging this hole?
Until we come out on the other side
When you come out on the other side?
Falling from grace, what's the difference
When you come out on the other side?
The other side
The other side
Where you come out alone
Will you come out at all?
Will you come out alone?
When you come out on the other side?
Falling from grace, what's the difference
When you come out on the other side?
The other side
The other side
On the other side, the other side
Where you come out alone

I think there is always an end to anything (the other side). Good or Bad, always an other side. I wish other people have commented on this song, can't believe I am the first one. I wanted to here what other people had to say about this! I kind of get the sense that this song is about disappointment, and not getting your so called "time to shine". Everyone wants to hit that period were all the hard work pays off and you can enjoy yourself. This song I think is about when you worked real hard, went through a lot and found that you are oddly okay, but alone. The alone part is the key, I think. The fear and worry that you will not make it, or that you will make it alone.
I'm not sure how to feel with this song! The music its self is awesome! I love the chorus! Not sure if the lyrics make me feel like I am not alone, happy, sad, upset, tired. Not sure! I like the feeling I get... tho, odd, I like it. I want to understand this song better!
The Otherside is the most played song in my iTunes play list; my personal mantra to the last few years of my life; even more so the last year. I lost everything, seperated from my wife & kids, lost my home, job, possessions, became homeless sleeping in my truck, migrated from Nevada back to my home turf in NYC and battled my personal metal struggles on the verge of giving up on life. As a US Army veteran I had my house my back, assessed what resources I had at my disposal and this song in my iTunes and it gave me the motivation I needed on constant repeat hours on end. I crawled through mud, hell and back again; it made no difference as long as I "came out on the other side". The only difference is I didn't come out the otherside along; I came out a stronger, wiser person, learned from my mistakes; landed a new job, took my pay and got a temp roof over my head, saved got a apartment, found myself, and the week of July 4th 2017 brought my family back together...
"How low, how low Can you keep digging this hole? Until we come out on the otherside. Crawling through mud What's the difference when you come out on the otherside? Falling from grace What's the difference when you come out on the otherside?"
I'd also like to leave a another two quotes from Shawshank Redemption for someone else who might come along and found this song motivational...
"Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."
I.... "crawled through a river of sh** and came out clean on the other side."

I think it’s about fear of how everything will turn out in the end. No matter what you do, you can never know how it will end. Happiness is worth the hard work but what’s the point if all that hard work didn’t bring happiness? The end is a scary thing. That’s the best way I can explain. I’d like to read any other interpretations.
