Troye said that this song is about the first time he went to a gay bar. He was excited finally being in a place where everyone is either like him or supports his sexuality, but it was nerve wracking being freshly 18 and seeing all these men who were confident with themselves and carried themselves as such.

okay from what I've read, this song is about the first time Troye went to a gay bar and how he was treated like a piece of meat. I'm pretty sure he's said this in an interview before too

It\'s a song of freedom. Even the drop of the beats suggests that ease. A situation where you\'ve been hiding your true nature because of what the world thinks of you then finally you went to a place where everyone accepts you for who you are. The feeling cannot be compared to anything and that\'s what the song is about. "Kiss me on the mouth and set me free, please don\'t bite" can be translated to "let\'s make the best of this wonderful moment, please don\'t ruin it"
