Baby Lyrics
You keep
your love
just out of reach
I can almost taste it
I can almost taste it.
I know
that if I touch It'll make
you feel weak
I think you can take it.
oh hh ah
What has this all done to you?
Little hands layin' heavy, tryin' to cover up the truth.
oh hm
I just wanna,
I just wanna love you.
I didn't want all this trouble,
I just wanna be your baby sometimes too.
um um
When the light hits you just right,
when the light hits you just right,
when the light hits you just right.
I forget everything baby, but you can't be mine.
I forget, I forget, I forget, I forget...
Let's see who's coming out tonight
all the pretty boys and girls
dancing under the silver moon
purple eyes and silver moon
purple eyes.
your love
just out of reach
I can almost taste it
I can almost taste it.
that if I touch It'll make
you feel weak
I think you can take it.
Little hands layin' heavy, tryin' to cover up the truth.
I just wanna love you.
I didn't want all this trouble,
I just wanna be your baby sometimes too.
when the light hits you just right,
when the light hits you just right.
I forget everything baby, but you can't be mine.
I forget, I forget, I forget, I forget...
all the pretty boys and girls
dancing under the silver moon
purple eyes and silver moon
purple eyes.

She's in love with someone whose love is unobtainable. He might be in love with her too but is too hesitant to admit it. She is so close to him, yet so far. It might be worth it at this point to continue pursuing his love because she feels like she almost has him so she will just keep it the way it is and enjoy being in love with him. It's hard for her to believe he doesn't feel it too when she feels this strongly for him.
It´s about loving someone whose ability to let love happen and to open up to it completely is more than slightly affected by childhood trauma.
I made a dang account on this site for this so you better read it, passerby! You came here for words, ta-dah.~ This is definitely abusive, when I first listened, it felt like the swan song for having to leave an abuser, rarely affection, love of her life. But now perhaps, she was a tease, for a man who couldn’t follow through. And his pride gets all wrapped in it and turns him spiteful. Idk, I’m just your average american girl.
