Days of Candy Lyrics
No one could find you
Out on your own
All things I loved
But do not know
On hopewell road
These days of candy
Live in your mind
Those violet lines
White fenced in miles
Across my eyes
A world inside you
No photograph
My natural one
The rising sun
Live in your mind
Just like that, it's gone
Just like that, it's gone
Just like that
I know it comes too soon
The universe is riding off with you
Hi o out there I know
A little bit of you will keep it close to me
I know it comes too soon
The universe is riding on with you
I know it comes too soon
I know it stays for nobody
I want to know you there
The universe is riding off with you
Out on your own
All things I loved
But do not know
On hopewell road
Live in your mind
Those violet lines
White fenced in miles
Across my eyes
No photograph
My natural one
The rising sun
Live in your mind
Just like that, it's gone
Just like that
The universe is riding off with you
A little bit of you will keep it close to me
I know it comes too soon
The universe is riding on with you
I know it stays for nobody
I want to know you there
The universe is riding off with you

This is is a hauntingly beautiful song... Classic Beach House stuff.
I interpret this song as being about the loss of the innocence and hopes of youth and childhood. The way that adulthood and responsibility challenge and suppress these emotions far too soon.
To me, this song is about the phases of life. Every part of your life and every person ends up going or leaving someday, but they will always be a part of you. The end always happens too soon, but every part and moment and person in your life is hauntingly important and beautiful - Just like this song. Sometimes you miss those moments or people, but those will always be a part of you and that brings comfort in a longing but beautiful kind of way
I think it's about the death of a loved one.
I have corrected the lyrics, they've been "sent to the copyright owner" for approval but I doubt anything will be fixed..
If you've ever lost someone and wondered "wtf just happened" when you realized they've come and gone like a dream, this song should properly kick your ass.
To me, this song is defintely about loss of innocence.
That is the job of an real artist, it is not obvious, it depends of who is listening and still, is a profound lyric.
Well, this is a natural piece of art indeed. It is not quite obvious but that's the beauty of it, Could be talking about death? Yes, maybe... People just die and then they as many ones say "live in your mind" or memory, Could be also talking about the abrupt end of innocence? Totally. Innocence just dies the day You find out many candy dreams you had were just dreams and reality is far cruder and uglier than those candy days...
The song is a masterpiece and so beautifully written. It’s mentioned previous how the song is written so well, the meaning of the song is basically based on the interpreter. We’re all generally on the same page as far as loss of innocence and possibly a loved one. But, I just had a revelation of the song being written from the perspective of a parent watching their child grow up and being a father of three, this damn near killed me. ????????????
