I think this song might be about pregnancy and giving birth:

• Baby was past the due date, time to come out.

• Doctors induced labor (unclear)

• Being in the delivery room when the baby is just born can be irrationally euphoric. Even afterward, despite hardships, there can be a feeling of intense joy and gratitude about this new little living creature in your life.

• Possibly something went terribly wrong. But possibly just a reference to the first few months of massive sleep deprivation from having a crying infant, which can be surprisingly and mind-alteringly awful.
