My name is Noah, the sea is my home
This small wooden boat will be my throne
I'm proud of what I've built and the things that I've done
And all of the people I've learned to love

Singing Noah, Noah

My name is Judus and my hands are tied
And even my presence is a warning sign
That wherever you go and whatever you do
Your past will always follow you

Singing Noah, Noah
Singing Noah, Noah

So why don't we light a fire?
Let the flames grow higher
Light a fire and leave the rest behind?
'Cause life's for living, right?

Noah, Noah
Singing Noah, Noah

Get busy living or get busy dying
I'd hate to see you left behind
Get busy living or get busy dying
I'd hate to see you left behind

Singing Noah, Noah
Singing Noah, Noah
Singing Noah, Noah

My name is Noah, the sea is my home
Oh and this small wooden boat will be my throne

    My Interpretation

To me this song is about trying to escape your past and starting fresh.

There are two characters that the author applies to himself, that of Noah, and that of Judas. Both were basically only remembered for one thing, Noah for being the only righteous man on earth at the time, and Judas for betraying Christ. I think most people see themselves in this way, the good vs the bad. And most people try to escape the things they've done wrong at some point and start fresh. Like Noah, and the flood that sort of rebirthed the Earth, I think the writer is looking to leave behind a troubled past and start new. That might not mean living on the straight and narrow as it were. But it could also mean just dumping the baggage he carries with him.

I especially like the way he describes the sea as his home. I think it symbolizes that people aren't static beings. We change in innumerable ways and we shouldn't be defined by who we were at one point in time.

He ends the song with "So why don't we light a fire and leave the rest behind Cause life's for living right" which I think is his call to action, that we burn what's dead of our pasts and should no longer be tied to us, and to also light a fire under us that motivates us to be the best versions of ourselves.

And finally, "Gotta get busy living or get busy dying. Oh and I'd hate to see you left behind." I would agree. If you're going to be so torn down and broken about the way you've been hurt in the past, or the way you've hurt others, then it clouds everything in the present, and you're not really living, you're just slowly dying. He chooses not to live that way, and if others don't heed his advice, they will be left behind.

Anyway, that's just my interpretation, probably way off. But I really enjoy the song.

Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
