A Desolate Kingdom Lyrics

Through the storm I arise
Led by high moons so bright that they burn the skies
Behold, this barren and cold kingdom
Rule my empire that goes higher and higher

Now I must see
The fortress deep inside of me
From eternity

On an on as I chase the moon
To a blackened dark room
Cursed with fear and tombs
Am I alone, I should have known to have lost

Now I must see
The fortress deep inside of me
From eternity

Now I must see
The fortress deep inside of me
From eternity

Cover art for A Desolate Kingdom lyrics by Prospekt

I take it as a metaphor for life.

First verse deals with them coming through the hard times (storm) and when they emerge they are a little "broken" emotionally / mentally (barren and cold kingdom). Nonetheless though they now are in control of their own life (rule my empire).

The chorus focuses on them needing to look within themselves because they know they have the strength to live their life.

The second verse focuses again on overcoming struggles and boundaries in their life, to stay on track and reminds themselves to keep looking within themselves for the strength to conquer all.
