Loud Places (feat. Romy) Lyrics

I go to loud places to search for someone
To be quiet with who will take me home
You go to loud places to find someone who
Will take you higher than I took you
Didn't I take you to higher places you can't reach without me?
Reach without me?

[Chorus]
I have never reached such heights
I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights

I go to those places where we used to go
They seem so quiet now
I'm here, all alone
You go to new places with I don't know who
And I don't know how to follow you

Higher
I take you higher and I’ll take you
Didn’t I take you higher?
I take you higher
I take you higher and I take you
Didn’t I take you higher?
Didn't I take you to higher places you can't reach without me?
Reach without me

[Chorus]
I have never reached such heights
I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights

Oh (x10)
I feel music in your eyes
I have never reached such heights (x2)

You're in ecstasy without me
When you come down
I won't be around

Cover art for Loud Places (feat. Romy) lyrics by Jamie xx

Seems that the song is about a recent break up with a man. The singer or whoever the song is portraying seems to be the one with her heart broken. The man, is going to these "loud places" possibly in reference to bars, to find someone who can "bring him to newer heights and places". The woman being portrayed feels that she has brought this man to such great heights and places that it is impossible to find someone better and feels he'll never be at the same height with someone other than her. In short, it is about a break-up between a man and a woman, and the man is attempting to find someone to bring him higher than he was with the girl singing in "loud places" (think bars), but the girl singing believes that she brought him and their relationship to the highest it could ever be.
