Rain Plans Lyrics

I got rain plans
Written in these storms
When I throw it
Tell me where to go
Hold on, there's a woman in my bed
And I want her to stay here
Hold on, there's a woman in my head
And I want her to stay there

I got rain plans
Tell us where we've been
I got new hands
To pawn us west again.

Hold on, there's a woman in my bed
And I want her to stay here
Hold on, there's a woman in my head
And I want her to stay there

Cover art for Rain Plans lyrics by Israel Nash

This great song was included in the captain fantastic movie sound track- fitting perfectly into a scene where Viggo mortenson is driving the empty bus back from the father in laws house without his children with him. Is a beautiful scene driving through the desert country Viggo weeping at his loss, the death of his wife, and the uncertain future that lay ahead of him. The song style is reminiscent of Neil young in the riffs and vocals, but lyrics are not as well measured with imagery and meaning. I assume rain plans are your plan B when things are not going right. The storm refers to some kind of crisis or event that has forced the subject to resort to his rain plan which involved leaving the situation with his woman. But at the end of the song it sounds like he leaves her behind " I've got new hands that point which way to go" I am disappointed there was not more to the story- maybe Israel can write another song to follow up.
