Landlocked Lyrics

You know you really should be smiling
But you don't feel like smiling
Your face is made of stone
I give up

You're only working when you have to
Eating at the drive-through
Lazy bag of bones
Go ahead and make that two

And now you're hiding from the landlord
Heating bills get ignored
You're colder than the cold
Freeze me out

And when you're searching for your close friends
All that you find are dead-ends
No one calls you back

You know you really should be smiling
But you don't feel like smiling
Your face is made of stone
I give up

I've been landlocked
Frozen and blocked
I've been landlocked
Frozen and blocked

(I've been landlocked)
You know you really should be smiling
(Frozen and blocked)
But you don't feel like smiling
(I've been landlocked)
Your face is made of stone
(Frozen and blocked)
I give up
(I've been landlocked)
You know you really should be smiling
(Frozen and blocked)
But you don't feel like smiling
(I've been landlocked)
Your face is made of stone
(Frozen and blocked)
I give up

Cover art for Landlocked lyrics by Boat

Really like how this song, released on Boat's album Dress Like Your Idols, features John Roderick of the Long Winters, one of my favorite bands. Also cool that Boat parodies a version of the Long Winters' album cover When I Pretend to Fall on the cover of Dress Like Your Idols.

Also a great song about feeling useless -- I appreciate the boat pun, Boat. Landlocked indeed.
