I know you're scared, I can feel it
It's in the air, I know you feel that too
But take a chance on me
You won't regret it, no

One more "No" and I'll believe you
I'll walk away and I will leave you be
And that's the last time you'll say no, say no to me

It won't take me long to find another lover, but I want you
I can't spend another minute getting over loving you

If you don't ever say yeah
Let me hear you say yeah
Wanna hear you say yeah yeah yeah
Till my heart is open
Now you're gonna say yeah
Let me hear you say yeah
Wanna hear you say yeah yeah yeah
Wanna hear you say
Wanna hear you say
Wanna hear you say
Yes yes yes yes yes yes
Yes yes yes yes yes

It's just a moment go and seize it
Don't be afraid to give your heart to me
And if you do, I know that I won't let you down, no
Yeah, so hand it over, trust me with your love
I'll do anything you want me to
'Cause I can't breathe until I can see your face

Oh and I don't need time to find another lover, but I want you
I can't spend another minute getting over loving you

If you don't ever say yeah
Let me hear you say yeah
Wanna hear you say yeah yeah yeah
Till my heart is open
Now you're gonna say yeah
Let me hear you say yeah
Wanna hear you say yeah yeah yeah
Wanna hear you say
Wanna hear you say
Wanna hear you say
Yes yes yes yes yes yes

Yet another example of absolutely gorgeous lyrics written by the incredibly talented, Sia Furler. Her ability to evoke the most vulnerable and sincerely heartfelt emotions from within the depths of her soul, heart, mind, body etc is incomparable and such a rarity these days. I'm amazed to see that I'm the first comment on these lyrics.

In my opinion, the words are from the perspective of a person so filled with despair and immense longing for someone who is too scared to leave their "comfortable" life, possibly in a relationship. The person is saying to the object of their love/affection that even though this life you're currently living is familiar and easy and you're scared of change, you and I both know that you're clearly not as happy as you could be, so roll the dice on me, take the plunge and I promise you won't regret it.

"I know you're scared, I can feel it. It's in the air, I know you feel that too. But take a chance on me, you won't regret it, no. One more 'No' and I'll believe you. I'll walk away and I will leave you be. And that's the last time you'll say no, say no to me"

The narrator is saying, If you're really so scared to leave your current life behind in favor of a much more promising, beautiful and meaningful one with me, I won't continue to bother you, but know that I was here on my knees trying to plea to you that I'd make it worth all your worries and hesitations.

"It won't take long for me to find another lover, but I want you. I can't spend another minute getting over loving you"

The narrator is saying as much as it would pain me to have to walk away from you for good, I know I'm a good catch and worthy of someone who loves me as much as I love you... But still, I don't want anyone else's love but yours and I can't bare the idea of having to continue mourning the thought that you and I will never be.

"It's just a moment go and seize it, don't be afraid to give your heart to me. If you do, know that I won't let you down, no. So hand it over, trust me with your love. I'll do anything you want me to, because I can't breathe until I see your face"

The narrator is saying we only have this ONE life to be happy and to be loved, so stop fighting the doubts and hesitations in your head and listen to your heart because we belong together, regardless of whatever obstacles or excuses you try and come up with. We both know there is something very strong and very real between us, so why waste precious time just settling on being content when you could be truly happy, truly loved and most importantly, truly LIVING rather than coasting through life.

"Lemme hear you say yeah. Wanna hear you say, yeah, yeah, yeah until my heart is open"

The narrator is saying, I just want you to be with me wholeheartedly, but you've dragged me along for a long time now and I'm vulnerable, so if you do say yes, I need you to say it with so much conviction that my heart knows it's true and real.

This is truly a beautiful yet simultaneously tragic song. I was the "hesitant and content" party portraid in this song many years ago, so I understand the apprehension and fear that comes along with leaving a life and relationship behind to be with someone who I knew I was meant to be with. Even though I knew in my heart that he and I were soul mates, I was so scared to just walk away from a relationship and life I had become very used to for several years, in many ways. He pursued me for a long time until one night we were just sitting and talking and he flat out said, I can't do this anymore. I love you, I know you love me but you're making all of these bullshit excuses just so you don't hurt other people's feelings. What about your feelings and your happiness? You need to make a decision for yourself and not feel selfish for wanting to be happy!" The speech worked. I broke up with my boyfriend at the time (yes it was hard!) and ended up marrying my soul mate 4 years later. It was a big leap of faith but I haven't regretted it for a single second since I turned the old page and started really living and loving and being loved. Thank you for reminding me of that very scary yet incredibly rewarding feeling, Sia <3

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
