I think the basic premise of the song is about lead singer Michael's wife Kristi Mucci (who was born in 1985) and the 'lifting up' her presence has given to him through helping him battle bipolar disorder. Such a catchy and uplifting song though and so nice to be hearing new Passion Pit releases again!
I like thinking that it's a song for everybody who is born in 1985. :)
