Need The Sun To Break Lyrics

I'm halfway gone
Sleepless, I'm battle-worn
You're all I want
Bring me the dawn

I need the sun to break
You've woken up my heart, I'm sinking
All my love could change
Been in the dark for weeks
And I've realized you're all I need
I hope I'm not too late
I hope I'm not too late

Back of the room
How come my friends already know you?
Feel like a kid
Too shy to speak up so I keep it hid
Oh, butterflies
You steal my sleep each night

I need the sun to break
You've woken up my heart, I'm sinking
All my love could change
Been in the dark for weeks
And I've realized you're all I need
I hope I'm not too late
And I hope I'm not too late

I need the sun to break
You've woken up my heart, I'm sinking
All my love could change
Been in the dark for weeks
And I've realized you're all I need
I hope I'm not too late
And I hope I'm not too late
And I hope I'm not too late

this song really hits home. i have listened to it about 200 times this weekend. so i decided to post my story so hopefully i can help someone learn from my mistake. i am in my mid to late thirties. i have done a lot of dating but never really connected with anyone. about 9 months ago i met someone and hit it off pretty well. we dated for 6 months. i knew there was something different about her cause i could never get her off my mind. we both had a lot going on in our lives and one night we just took it out on each other. had a huge fight and stopped talking. after a few days of not speaking i really started to miss her more and more, but my pride had gotten in the way. after 3 weeks of not speaking i decided to text her. she never responded which it wasn't until a few days ago i found out her phone was broken.as more time passed my feelings for her kept growing. 3 months passed and i bumped into her we spoke for a little. the next day i received a text from her saying how it was great to see me. so i finally told her how madly in love with her i was. only to find out she was in an exclusive relationship that was a little less then 2 weeks old. nothing like sharing your feelings with complete strangers ,but if this helps one person not feel the pain i'm feeling now. it will be worth it.

Not gonna claim to know the meaning here but have a story similar to the other comment here and felt the need to share. I'm a senior in high school and a few years back (10th grade if I recall) I was really good friends with a whole family. Loved the parents, great friends a guy my age and a guy a year younger. They had a sister who was a junior at the time. I was in love with this girl. Nicest seeetest girl I've ever met. Never told her bc I didn't want to lose the friendships I shared with the whole family and her as well to be honest. Family moved out of state the next year. So I still have no clue about the feelings mutuality or anything and it hurts, mostly just thinking about what could've been. So I dunno. I found this song through Pandora and it just connected with me. Listened to it on repeat in the car and just drove around for an hour reflecting. It was a hard reality check and nostalgic moment for me. This song probably has nothing to do with anything I just wrote but to me it means a lot and I don't know.

Great song by James Bay. In my opinion he finds himself loving someone he’s afraid to talk to. He’s needing something to propel him and hoping the window hasn’t closed for them to be together
