Some men purchase real dolls
To fill the void
She don't finish dinner
And her expression never changes
Don't shake hands with the lonely kids
Cause I hear that shit's contagious
Yeah yeah,
Yeah yeah
Animals in my bed, animals in my bed
Animals in the street
I like cats, do you like cats
Of course you do you sassy motherfucker
My stomach hurts, does your stomach hurt
Do our stomaches hurt together
I feel pain, do you feel pain
Will this pain last forever?
Yeah yeah,
Yeah yeah
I don't think the flavor packet
Makes it taste much different
You said that you knew who you were
But I did not know what you meant
Yeah yeah,
Yeah yeah
I'm a devil, you're a devil
We're all devils, Mary
You love Satan but you don't know her
And sometimes she gets scary
Yeah yeah,
Yeah yeah
To fill the void
She don't finish dinner
And her expression never changes
Don't shake hands with the lonely kids
Cause I hear that shit's contagious
Yeah yeah
Animals in the street
I like cats, do you like cats
Of course you do you sassy motherfucker
Do our stomaches hurt together
I feel pain, do you feel pain
Will this pain last forever?
Yeah yeah
Makes it taste much different
You said that you knew who you were
But I did not know what you meant
Yeah yeah
We're all devils, Mary
You love Satan but you don't know her
And sometimes she gets scary
Yeah yeah

To me, it seems that this song explores our tendency to satisfy our loneliness in self-destructive way - accomplished by giving us a first-hand account of a woman in an unhappy relationship (V1 "Some men purchase real dolls...) Verse two is a parody of the conversations typical of modern relationship, shallow banter without any real depth; neither person truly lets the other inside. Verse three, shows us that despite this, they both want to get rid of their lonliness/pain. Verse four fast-forwards to the beginning of the dissolution of the relationship. They try to spice up the relationship, but are ultimately unhappy ("I don't think the flavor packet/ Makes it taste much different.) The guy says that he can't change, but the woman doesn't know how to take it. The song ends with the woman embracing her true self.
