Beautiful song - the entire "Last Ship" (Deluxe Edition) is an amazing theatrical rendering of England's dying shipyard industry and how its varied players try to find Love and meaning in what seems a trapped and hopeless existence.
Though it seems that the legacy of the many generations of who struggle to make a living in an imaginably difficult profession is a dark and gloomy one, Love and the human Spirit ultimately makes the courageous choice to prevail in spite of circumstances it has no control over.
