Q&A
Anarchy in the U.K. Lyrics
Oh I am an anti-Christ
And I am an anarchist
Don't know what I want
But I know how to get it
I wanna destroy the passers by
Because I, I wanna be, anarchy
In this fuckin' city
Anarchy for the U.S.A.
It's coming sometime, maybe
Give the wrong time
Stop a traffic line
Your future dream is a shopping scheme
Because I wanna be, anarchy
Well it's the only way to be
Ha ha ha ha ha ha
There are many ways to get what you want
I use the best, well I use the rest
Well I use the enemy
I use anarchy
Because I, I wanna be, anarchy
Fuck the rat race man
Is this the P.M.R.C.
Or is this the D.E.A.
Or is this the C.I.A.
I thought it was the U.S.A.
Or just another country
Some other fuckin' country
And I, wanna be, anarchy
Oh I wanna fuckin' hear it man
And I, wanna be, anarchy
Let's say it again boys
And I, wanna be, anarchy
And I am an anarchist
Don't know what I want
But I know how to get it
I wanna destroy the passers by
Because I, I wanna be, anarchy
In this fuckin' city
It's coming sometime, maybe
Give the wrong time
Stop a traffic line
Your future dream is a shopping scheme
Because I wanna be, anarchy
Well it's the only way to be
There are many ways to get what you want
I use the best, well I use the rest
Well I use the enemy
I use anarchy
Because I, I wanna be, anarchy
Fuck the rat race man
Or is this the D.E.A.
Or is this the C.I.A.
I thought it was the U.S.A.
Or just another country
Some other fuckin' country
And I, wanna be, anarchy
Oh I wanna fuckin' hear it man
And I, wanna be, anarchy
Let's say it again boys
And I, wanna be, anarchy

This is one of those songs that has been covered many times....both successfully, and also in some less than memorable covers. I had never really listened to it until the early 2000's, and it really struck a chord with me because I have always had a "screw the rules" mentality, and it was a punk anthem when it was initially recorded by the Sex Pistols. In the Crue's case, it was a screw you to the recording industry.
