Hold My End Up Lyrics

The sun fell, another night began.
Shots rang out, all the people ran.
Confident in our innocence.
Promises out in the wilderness.
I know, I said, I would,
I know, I said, I would.

The martyred sons of a forgotten fit.
Bend a knee for your favorite.
So foolish in their innocence.
Promises out in the wilderness.
I know, I said, I would,
I know, I said, I would.

Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.
Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.

It's not too late to turn your back on them.
What kind of friend would lead you to your death?
Don't be foolish in your innocence.
Break the promise in the wilderness.
I know, you said, you would,
I know, you said, you would,
I know

Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.
Hold my end, hold my end up, hold my end.

I know, you said, you would,
I know, you said, you would...

Cover art for Hold My End Up lyrics by Delta Spirit

"It's my response to the incident at Columbine and being really similar to that kind. I was this goth, their age, who loved old Metallica, White Zombie, and Pantera. Those were the bands I identified with, and I was really angry at the rest of the world. My friends were too. I stood up for myself, but there were other kids who got picked on. I just wanted to write a song for them. I think there are kids like that today. I'm not sure they have music like that to hold on to." - Matt Vasquez
