Blind in one eye
We learned about love from the movies
The seeds were sown by the first one to fall
(Who we trampled on our way to gather scraps from all the dinner tables)
Everything they have ever wanted lives inside their heads
But the mouths are broken records
We’ve gotten sick of listening
Living, loving, dying, everyone will save their own
But sadly no one ever took the fall the seeds were never sown
So its onward and upwards on the glittering wings of hope
The rest of them are looking up and wishing that we’d choke
And the other side is negligent because it’ll always be us and them
The firing line is moving with time
(Check your head for target signs)
In the cycle of things, we’re just avoiding the wheels
Line us up like portraits to have something to steal from
Now we know the score ‘cause its painted on our eyelids
And we lost
So we’re packing our bags and waving bye from our cabs
And that’s why we thought it was healing but we’re picking at the scabs
If I screw it up, and the foundation crumbles
They’ll probably jot it down as luck.
Things turned and we looked like kids
Curses in our mouths and our middle fingers sticking up
And everything is simple 'til we place our bids
And learn about the other side
And end up with our tongues in knots
And then the page turns and we look like them
With pencils in our pockets and our name tag's nice and shiny
And our faces are in place and our lines are rehearsed
But who are we to point the finger
Just because we fell off first?
A handful of bones and you're a connoisseur of handshakes
With wandering eyes, and dollar-signs for pupils
Such a lovely machine, she has such elegant hands
She'll reach inside and pluck your spinal cord until you do her bidding
And they equate it to a flower blooming
A rose inside your chest, only the petals are razors
And the saddest part is knowing it'll happen to me too
The ticket no one wants to hold is stapled to my palm
Your hands are dirty, but your conscience is clean
I've learned to fear the ones with strong heads and broken hearts
I've seen the future, I don't know what it means
And it won't solve things, but revenge is a good start
Take what you will, I promise not to intervene
Just please stop whispering, it's hurting my head
I don't need sympathy, just somewhere to lean
And an excuse to put a roof over my head
The smarter the hen
The better the hunt
The quicker they fall
The sooner we jump

The faster they choke
The stronger we pull
The quicker they grope
The harder we laugh
The sooner they grin
The quicker they trust
The faster we win
The more they complain
The less we forgive
And so on
